The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Ref. 3573.50.00 is the version collectors know as the Sapphire Sandwich. It is the familiar Moonwatch with its unmistakable chronograph face, but with sapphire crystal on both the front and the back, so the hand-wound movement stays in view.
The steel case measures 42 mm and carries the classic bezel with tachymeter scale. The black dial has luminous stick indices and three registers, including a small seconds hand, a 30 minute recorder and a 12 hour recorder. The watch comes on a steel bracelet.
Inside beats the OMEGA calibre 1863, a hand-wound chronograph movement derived from the calibre 1861 and given a finer finish. The power reserve is 48 hours and the watch is water resistant to 5 bar (50 metres).
