Omega Speedmaster price: what does a pre-owned Speedmaster cost?
At Segundor, an Omega Speedmaster currently costs between € 3.250 and € 7.150. We have 8 in stock right now.
The price of a pre-owned Speedmaster depends mainly on four things: the reference (a current Moonwatch with calibre 3861 costs more than a 3570.50), the condition of case, dial and bracelet, whether the box and papers are included (FS in the title), and the age. Vintage pieces with rare dials are a category of their own.
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch: the references compared
| Reference | Crystal | Caseback | Calibre |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3570.50 (3570.50.00) | Hesalite | Solid | 1861 |
| 3572.50 | Hesalite | Sapphire | 1863 |
| 3573.50 Sapphire Sandwich | Sapphire | Sapphire | 1863 |
| 310.30.42.50.01.001 | Hesalite | Solid | 3861 Master Chronometer |
All four are 42 mm, hand-wound chronographs. Calibres 1861 and 1863 have a 48-hour power reserve, the 3861 has 50 hours.
Speedmaster Professional, '57, Racing or First Omega in Space?
The Speedmasters we carry, briefly explained. You can see which ones are currently in stock above.
Moonwatch 3570.50
The classic Speedmaster Professional, with hesalite crystal, a solid caseback and the hand-wound calibre 1861. It is the Moonwatch as many enthusiasts know it.
Moonwatch 3572.50
Hesalite at the front, a sapphire caseback at the back, showing the more finely finished calibre 1863. It was made for a shorter period and is harder to find.
Moonwatch 3573.50 "Sapphire Sandwich"
Sapphire on both sides and calibre 1863. The Moonwatch for those who want a scratch-resistant crystal and a view of the movement.
Moonwatch Professional 310.30.42.50.01.001
The current generation, with hesalite, a solid caseback and calibre 3861: a Co-Axial Master Chronometer with a 50-hour power reserve.
Omega Speedmaster '57
40.5 mm with Broad Arrow hands, such as the 332.10.41.51.11.001. It refers to the first Speedmaster of 1957 and is a little more elegant than the Moonwatch.
Omega Speedmaster Racing
An automatic chronograph of 39 to 40 mm with a sporty dial, such as the 3510.81 and the 326.30.40.50.03.001. The accessible way into the Speedmaster family.
Speedmaster First Omega in Space (FOIS)
A compact 39.7 mm case, such as the 310.30.40.50.06.001. It honours the first Omega watch in space, from 1962.
Why is the Omega Speedmaster called the Moonwatch?
Omega launched the Speedmaster in 1957 as a chronograph for motorsport. In 1962 astronaut Wally Schirra wore one on his Mercury flight, which the First Omega in Space refers to. In 1965 NASA approved the Speedmaster for manned space flights, and in 1969 it went to the moon with Apollo 11.
Since then, the Speedmaster Professional has been known as the Moonwatch. The design has barely changed: the same black dial, three subdials and a bezel with tachymeter scale. That is why a pre-owned Omega Moonwatch is still recognisable as the same watch. Looking to buy a Moonwatch? Pay most attention to the reference, the crystal and the calibre; the table above helps you choose.
Pre-owned, second-hand or vintage Omega Speedmaster?
Pre-owned, used and second-hand all mean the same thing: the watch has had a previous owner. A vintage Omega Speedmaster is an older piece with the characteristics of its era, such as tritium on the dial. The year and condition of every watch are in the product description, so you know exactly what you are buying.

What to look for in a pre-owned Speedmaster
Original parts: the dial, hands and bezel must match the reference and the year. They are sometimes replaced during a service.
Papers: with the box and papers (FS in the title), the provenance is easier to check and the watch holds its value better.
Case condition: check whether the lugs are still sharp and the lines are right, or whether the case has been refinished often.
Bracelet condition: play between the links shows how much the bracelet has been worn.
Calibre: the movement must match the reference: 1861, 1863 or 3861.
Maintenance: a Speedmaster movement needs a service now and then. If a recent service has been done, it is stated in the product description.

Frequently asked questions about the Omega Speedmaster
The difference is in the crystal and the movement. The 3570.50 has hesalite, a solid caseback and calibre 1861. The 3572.50 has hesalite with a sapphire caseback and calibre 1863. The 3573.50 has sapphire on both sides and also calibre 1863.
The 3861 is the successor. It has a Co-Axial escapement, is certified as a Master Chronometer, resists magnetism better and has a 50-hour power reserve instead of 48.
It depends on the reference, the condition and whether the box and papers are included. You can see the current prices of all Speedmasters in stock at the top of this page.
